I am trying to write a children's book, and need help with the pictures. I can not draw at all!!!! Where would a good cheap place be to find pictures that would not considered stealing artwork?

Well, I'd just Yahoo! search:
"free stock photos" or "free clipart"
you usually have to get permission to change them in any way, though.

That just sounds like a bad idea. Maybe you should ask a friend to be the illustrator if you can't draw. You could always try using photographs that you've taken yourself. If they're digital than you could mess around with them in a photo program. You could even use silhouettes. Get some paint and use colors and patterns to go with the story, you don't always need it to be realistic. Anything is better than using recycled images. I don't know how serious you are about this but most people with any real background in art/illustration would easily recognize clip art. I think it would be sort of embarrassing to be known as "the person who isn't creative enough to use original artwork". People tend to have a little less respect for you if they think you're unoriginal.

Unless, of course, you don't care and you're just doing this for fun or something. If it's for a school project then I'd also understand you not wanting to put too much effort in to that part of it even though you'd get a better grade for being original.
