divide the 24 squares into 12 equal areas.
You will see that each one is 2 squares
each 2 squares is 1/12 of the 24 squares
now take 7 of those 12ths and you will have 14 squares.

The answers you have been given are right but it just occurred to me to ask do you mean 24 SQUARES?

The S is next to D on the key board so perhaps you meant 7/12 of 24 SQUARED?

If so: 7/12 of 24 ^2 is 7/12 of 576

1/12 of 576 = 576/12 = 48

7/12 of 576 = 48 x 7 = 336

Hiya
7/12 of 24 is the same as:-
(7x24)/12
Dividing top and bottom by 12 gives
(7x2)/1
=14.
So 7/12 of 24 squares is 14 squares.
