find the total cost of a $659 tv witha price increase of 38%?

You've already received the answer, but I figured I would add the fact that you could have done that on the computer calculator!

I love how this is in Psychology, increase by a percentage of 38 and then wonder why the tv has underlying mental attributes to increasing prices. Is it, its relationship with its parents? An unhappy childhood?

659X1.38 = $909.42

Or... if you meant it had already had a price increase and you wanted to find the original price then....

yX1.38 = 659
Original price = $477.54

Might not be right...??

659 * (1 + 38/100)
= 909.42
the answer is 909.42 $

38% of $659 is $250.42 (you get this by 659 x 0.38)
Cost is therefore $659 + $250.42 = $909.42
