What is your opinion on the goth style?

The goth style of dress, I think, is the main flaw in the subculture. It just gets a bit over extreme at times. Please know, that the style won't make you a Goth; gothism is about artistic expression, a passion for the darker mysteries in life, literature, and a deep mind. The style of clothes, really, has nothing to do much with the subculture if you think about it. Goth's more about who you are inside, rather than what you look like; a personality you are born with.

WOW that is the stupidist, most ignorant statement I have ever heard anyone say on Goth! You can add color to Goth it isn't about all black, and Gothism has NOTHING to do with Satanism! Infact, most Goths are Christian!!! And it's Punk, not "Punked"; that means you've had a prank played on you, which is like how you are fooling yourself by being a poser. Sorry girl, but liking hard rock doesn't automatically make you Punk.

I am a Goth but it is not like emo emos are way more emotional and tend to be suicidal

Style is only a part of it. I like the style, but that has never stopped me from dressing, acting, and expressing myself in other ways. I don't wear all black every day.

I like the music and fashion, but hate how the scene been co-opted by the media (just look at some of the answers here - "it's sooo last week!1" "i've been gawf 4 yearz!~") and pigeon-holed as something only depressed teens "do"

A good relief from luminescent pastels and brings out the seductive, suppressive, modest, mysterious, provocative, "un-normal", somewhat medieval quality of what usually consist of black clothing.
Quite obviously, I enjoy the gothic scene.

I agree with Sirius. I am goth forever baby! I am happily (oh dear I said happy) celebrating my 6th year of it.

Just like all other styles, it'll come and go. It looks good on some, bad on others. I don't think it looks all bad, but nothing I would do myself
