there are professors with just their masters teaching criminal justice classes...but I thought you had to have your phd to teach at a university.

With just a masters, you can only teach at a community college or junior college. Those teachers generally make around $55,000 a year.

They are usually not called professors, Ithink they are called instructors. And most have to be planning to pursue there PhD in a certain amount of time.

their aren't many PhD criminal justice people out there.

Yes - you can teach at a community or junior college.
