CARPETING TORN UP IN MY LIVING ROOM, I THINK I HAVE HARDWOOD FLOORING UNDER THE CARPETING. WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO TEAR UP LAID CARPETING???

if your the Do-It-Yourself kind of guy.....just start at the corner and start pulling it back. You may want to start with a small section ....until your sure there is hard wood underneath. I give you a thumbs up on this one ....since it's not YOUR typical kind of question. ;o)

Cut it up with a carpet knife....then treat the hardwood floor with a wax/cleaner.

Pull the nail boards out from the edge of the wall, roll up the carpet and your good to go.

once you tear it up, then its time to get the real job done.
lay it down really neat and carefully (paying special attention to details) and make sure that there are no wet spots, unless you are using glue to make it stick together.
they you have to stack the wood together and wait for it to dry up all the way. you may see some of the white glue seep out the edges and cracks, but dont worry, just get the maid to clean up your mess.
