We are going on a cruise but will arive there over 1 day in advance. What can we do to spend time with an energetic 2 year old and without a car?
We do not want to see the beach as we will be doing that often in the following few days.
Any help is appreciated.

south beach is full of restaurants and shops. there are a couple museums in south beach. miami doesn't have the best public transit so most of the more touristy things to do i don't think you would want to take a bus to get there --
some of them are --
the deering estate
fairchild tropical garden
metro zoo
miami seaquarium
monkey jungle
parrot jungle
miami is set up to haul tourists out to the beach. the city itself isn't that tourist friendly.

Bayside has lots of shops and restaurants and activities going on.
With an active 2 year old, I might just find a place with a pool and settle in.

go to the local park a mcdonalds w/ play place the movies swim at the hotel.... kids love that stuff
