That depends on your definition of evil. Terms like "good" and "evil" are relative to the perspective of each being. To some people, simply being homosexual is one of the ultimate evils, yet to others, it is simply one way to live one's life. Therefore, I suppose that Man is capable of infinite evil in that any action or thought can be considered evil. At the same time, Man is incapable of evil because, in the grand scheme of things, "good" and "evil" are meaningless figments of the human imagination.

The evil that mankind does is the end all and be all. There is nothing more evil because man created true evil.

As much as it's perceived as wanting to.
People are born with certain intentions. How those intentions are processed, understood, and applied to the world differ between individual persons, circumstances, and other givens.
What one may perceive as evil, another may perceive as natural or orderly. Likewise, what one may perceive as good may be seen as counter-intuitive, obnoxious, or chaotic unto another.
Still, after all is said and done, the impact made by man is relatively insignificantly infinitesimal compared to the overall procedure and history of the universe. What wills us to go on though is not only our pride which motivates us, but the miracles which inspire us. Sometimes, it isn't the amount or quantity of deeds undertaken which matter, but the direct and specific results of our actions.
Evil? Man isn't capable of as much as we think or romanticize about. Impact? More than we will ever imagine or admit.

Wow, you are causing me a flashback! What a great question! This is a Psychology 101 question that can parallel w/ How much
'good' do you think---. You are actually asking only (2) two questions, yet they encompass: the afore mentioned psychology, life experiances, beliefs -whether in put (raised with) or self experianced, which can very easily fall under that which is described further as religious beliefs. That being stated; you now have to look at the "beliefs" and or faith of Christiandum. There in itself you find THE "evil one", in: satan himself. In that you have found the one and only described; biblicilally; evilest of evil. Satan's soul purpose-(play on words) is; in fact; to steal your soul
to eternal damnation in hell. He is the ultimate of cheaters, the liar of liars, the one who hates anything that would be intended for good and kindness in the name of Jesus Christ. There is the evilest of evil w/ the backing of the scriptures from the bible. Now
back to the 1st inquiry. Man has the capabilities to go so much further than he / she does. Look at the monsters that history has recorded like: Adolf Hitler, an absolutely brilliant man and his brilliance was wasted on the destruction of how many thousands and thousands and.... of poor people, just for the sake of his person-(masculinity) insanity. To keep it in todays times we needn't look no further that the shores of south Florida, where I raised my children and (2) two grandchildren. He too, has tortured, killed, raped, pillaged, burned------ but from fear has remained in power. Those are only a few of actual examples of how 'evil' man is and how capable he/she is or can be. Now we go to the psychological aspect of "how". I am sure you are well aware of how much of the human brain is not even utilized within
a life time. It has been proved time and time again, that man can teach himself, better himself to the point of "genius". How many genius' have you met lately?! The disturbing truth is: the closer to the genius the fine line is drawn between said genius and that of an individual totally "insane"! I needen't remind you that all of the really "Big" name 'bad' guys of history, as I stated earlier, were known to be genius' - yet insane!
I hope this helped, tried to cover all points you conjered up. Thanx 4 the memory -1973 Kent State University PSYCH 101

Mankind is capable of all evil. Mankind is not capable of destroying the planet, nor will it destroy itself. Mankind can only kill everything else while killing itself, but never actually kill itself
Nothing is more evil than something that can try to kill itself, but rather kill everything else.
Oh, someone wants to talk to you
