A fertilized egg takes about a week to implant itself to the uterine lining in the uterus. After it implants, it start producing the hormone hCG, which is what makes the pregnancy test positive. If you test too early (before the egg implants), chances are you'll get a negative test even if per chance you may be pregnant. Also, if you take a test on the day that the egg implants, you may still get a negative test, or have a very weak positive. So - the best thing to do is wait until your next missed period because by then, if should have been at least 2 weeks since the conception.

I got a positive test 4 days before my period was due. That was nearly 6 years ago, and I think test have got better nowadays.

Not all pregnancy tests are the same. Some are more sensitive - and consequently, more expensive - because they can detect pregnancy even if you have only a small amount of hCG in your system. Concentrations of hCG are reported in milliInternational Units (mIU) or amounts equal to 1/1000th of an IU per millilitre. A test with a sensitivity of 20 IU/L is more sensitive than one with 50 IU/L. You should be able to find this information on any home pregnancy test box.

A home pregnancy test takes a little longer to show up you can usually get hcg to show up in a hcg blood serum shortly after implantation. If you think you are you can always ask your doctor to do the blood test because it is more sensitive then the home test, Good Luck to you

My last child born 3months ago was done by invetrofertilization. We weren't allowed to take a pregnancy test for 2 weeks. They said that other wise I could get a false positive.

Now everyone can cure infertility using this natural remedy http://pregnancyhelps.info
infertility can run in the family and one of the first things the doctor asks you when you go to a fertility clinic is your family history regarding cases of infertility or other reproductive issues.
If infertility is caused by genetic disorder then it's not unusual that one of the kids (your mom) doesn't have it and another does (your aunt).
two months of trying is still to early to be concerned about the fact that you might be infertile and it's also quite early to go to a fertility specialist. Go to a regular Obgyb to get a closer insight and see what ways there are are to improve your fertility rate.
Also remove alcohol, caffeine and cigarettes from your life because they might influence your chances too. Stress is also a risk factor when it comes to infertility.

Implantation generally happens about 7 days after conception, which can occur anywhere between 12 hours to 4 days after intercourse. Then you need to give it time to make some hcg. So, I'd say it's best to take an early test a couple of days before your period is due if you want to know early, or else wait until you've missed your period.

Implantation occurs about 2-3 weeks after conceiving. About 48 hours after implantation you would beable to get a positive pregnancy test because once implantation happens, your HGC levels double every 48 hours. Good Luck!
