yeah i lived in a haunted house once. it was really old and there had been several people murdered in the house. we were really going through some hard times and the only house we could afford was stigmatized property(someone got killed there) me and my dad stayed there for like a year we had several creepy experiences.
i slept on a fold up bed in the back room right by a door. i woke up several times to the door being open after shutting it myself and making sure that it was closed.
me and my dad swear that we;ve heard each other in the house when there was no one else home. i was in the back room and i would hear voices and see lights like there were candles lit or something. i ran in there because i thought the house was on fire and there was no one. my dad swears the same but was asleep in his room.
the one christmas that we lived there we bought as many christmas presents for my little sister as we could affors and all the makings of a normal family christmas(ham, special foods, lights, tree, presents, the works). we had spent all our money that we had on all the stuff. i spent my last dollars on wrapping paper to wrap my sisters presents in(we gave each other nothing because we wanted my little sister to have the christmas she deserved because she's young and my parents split was especially hard on her) so me and dad wrapped em up on christmas eve because my mother was bringing her over on christmas morning. well we always locked the door at night because it wasn't the greatest of neighborhoods.
we woke up in the morning and they were all unwrapped and dad and i heard nothing.
my sister got presents wrapped in the funny pages and we turned in our notice that we wanted to end the lease.

My Dad used to tell this story when I was a little girl. My older brothers say it was true. We lived miles from Town, so on a weekend my Dad & the boys would go to town & stay over night with this old man Truman. He lived in a one room log cabin. Dad said, the only light Mr. Truman had was a lantern. They said, that after they had gone to bed on a pallet on the floor the rocking chair would start rocking. Some times they would be asleep & the lantern would come on. It had to be lighted by a match! They
did this visiting with Mr. Truman till he passed away at 90 yrs of age. A couple of friends of my brothers said, it was true too. I don't know if it's so, but I never would have stayed there.

My Grandfather died when I was 11...we lived in Sheffield at the time. My Grandmother moved down to Sheffield from Scotland to be nearer us...I used to go to see her after school before Mum and Dad came back from work...it was a long road with a gradual bend...you could see all the way back up the hill. I heard someone call my name really quietly I turned round...half way back up the hill about 50 yrds away was my Grandad, he was waving to me. It was him...I knew his clothes...the way he stood..cigarette in his mouth..maroon woolen scarf. I turned to run down the hill but looked as I ran...he was gone. Open playing fields on one side and a solid row of houses on the other. I guess he was just checking that we were ok.

True story.
I worked at a dept. store and this lady came back in asking for security becasue an old lady was in her car. When they followed her to the car they saw the old lady sitting in the driver seat. Security called the police and they arrived they asked the old lady why was she in the car, and she said she was cold. The lady wanted to know how she got in because it was locked. The police told the old lady to get out and stand up. They searced the car and found rope and an ax under the driver seat and it didn't belong to the owner. They then searched the old lady who turned out to be an man dressed up as an old woman who was wanted for murder in neighboring state. Needless to say I transfered to another store the next week.

Did you ever hear about Napoleon and the Egyptian pyramids? After going into one of the pyramids, he came out visibly shaken and scared. When one of his officers asked him about it, he sternly told him to never bring that subject up again. I've heard other stories of people running out of the pyramids screaming. Are they haunted? Maybe.
I've also heard that Alcatraz prison is haunted, and that visitors hear doors open and close, footsteps, and voices.
