It all depends on the mindset. the dems believe that the handout system is the only way to go...
It keeps people dependent on them instead of themselves.
All people are ultimately responsible to themselves first. They need to make a decision...should I hang out on this streetcorner another wasted night or shall I get up tomorrow and try to find a job...or go to school...or learn a trade..do SOMETHING for themself. Our nation recognizes anyone who at least gives a damn.
I bet the dems and libs who read this will name call you but not offer anything positive...

i love your way of wondering although i do not agree the negative have become poorer. Too many, as lots of the solutions exhibit, seem to believe that there is a huge money pie accessible and that if everyone slices off a chunk, that leaves a lot less for others. surely wealth is generated. The negative have become richer too. as far because the negative paying lots of the taxes, it really is an representation of the completed and utter lack of understanding of a few and the completed drowning contained in the Kool help of the left. the wealthy pay by technique of far the most taxes. the bottom 50 in line with cent might want to pay 3 in line with cent of the income tax yet not a lot more effective and the poorest do not pay any in any respect. even as the negative do not pay taxes, they don't have any incentive to care about to blame authorities. even as someone needs the authorities to pay for something or blames the authorities for something, quite what they are doing is attempting to make somebody else artwork and pay for them and blame them for his or her issues.

If we indeed had a free market it would be one thing. But several factors prevent this.
1. The turn around system between corporations and regulatory bodies
2. The amount of corporate welfare given as a direct return for campaign contributions
3. The inability of the American people to find and support a candidate that is not marketed to them like toothpaste.
4. The growing feeling of disassociation that people have with their government.

Each individual and his/her family are ultimately responsible for their socioeconomic fate within the fabric of society. But when that fabric has a lot of holes in it b/c of a lack of infrastructure then all the units, even the well established ones will lose strength. A government that protects it's citizens from themselves is priceless. A government who looks out for the interest of its citizens without handing out incentives for the lazy, is a government that will ensure a collectively beneficial environment conducive to growth and progress.

There's a VERY low tax cut off point, which allows the same amount to be paid for someone making 500k compared to someone making 10 million.
If it were a fair tax system, we'd be paying a flat percentage for all US citizens, just like sale tax.
Thus, the rich get richer.

Oh its just another way for the Dems to blame it on Bush!
But after all people do sometimes have runs of bad luck and need help!
Things happen! Things that can turn a person that is rich into a person that has nothing at all....NO one has complete control of their destiny!

It's sad that so many people look to the government to solve all their problems, whether it be financial matters or affairs of the heart.
We are not granted the right to be happy but rather the right to pursue happiness. An emotion is not a right; it's something that needs to be accomplished and the person has complete control over (or is supposed to be). People tend to forget the "pursuit" part.
This question is very thought-provoking...

Our Government is so divided now, and I have never seen so much anger and division in our country. The Republicans and Democrats are at each others throats. One stands for the rich and the other defends the poor. They are so busy fighting in Washington , D.C. that they don't even realize how it is effecting the people. IS this what us PEOPLE have to tolerate ?? Good grief, can't these senators, and workers do their jobs and quit fighting ? They all deserve to be fired. I want Donald Trump to fire them all !!

Tax and education and healthcare policy play massive roles in these trends. You should really take a macroeconomics course.
If free market were the main goal of our country then why aren't human organs sold to the highest bidder? Why do we have the postal service? Why do we have medicare and social security? We're not ferengi, we have a democracy where the market serves the people not vice versa.
