Photosynthesis uses the energy of light to make the sugar, glucose. A simple general equation for photosynthesis follows.

6 CO2 + 12 H2O + light → C6H12O6 + 6 O2 + 6 H2O
Carbon Dioxide + Water + Light energy → Glucose + Oxygen + Water

Photosynthesis is a 2 part process consisting of the light dependent and light independent reactions. In the light dependent reactions, light is used to split water to make oxygen gas and a hydrogen gradient for ATP synthesis. That ATP and NADPH is used in the light independent reaction, also called Calvin Bensin Cycle, to fix carbon from carbon dioxide into a 5 carbon molecule called ribulose biphosphate, RuBP. So the hydrogen in the glucose actually comes from RuBP.
