I'm trying to get a pill bug, and the walkthroughs say they hide under rocks, and I read one walkthrough that said you had to hit the rocks with a shovel or ax, but I've been doing that and it doesn't seem to be working. So is there another way?

not all rocks have pillbugs.
when you walk around, and you see a rock, break out your shovel (your axe breaks after a certain number of uses, if it's not gold) and shovel right there at that rock. most rocks don't have anything to offer...
if it turns red, and bags of money come out, keep on hitting, fast as you can - money doubles each time you hit, but you only have a short time til the rock isn't red anymore. one rock a day is like this.
sometimes, when you hit the rock, and it doesn't matter what time of year it is, a little speck can be seen, running away from the rock. he'll try to get to water or a cliff edge or something so that he can disappear, but you are going to pull out that bug catching net, and swipe away at it

Fun for an hour a day for about a month or two then you'll never play it again. It comes with a memory card and some of the nes games are good. Player's Choice to boot, it's worth the try. Oh and play between halloween and christmas or during the Summer. Post Christmas season is boring as hell.

But you have to know which rock.
First have your shovel in hand and net at the ready.
If you can get one of your citizens to stare at a rock, that is an excellent indication that the pillbug is there.
Position yourself so you strike the rock with your shovel. (CLANG!)
When the pillbug pops free, swap out to your net and grab it.
Your other option is to clang rocks all day

I got my first pillbug with hitting a rock with the shovel. Also there isn't a pillbug under every rock. Just keep hitting various rocks in your animal crossing town. There really isn't another way. (GoodLuck)

YEA clang rocks with your shovel all day until it pops out....OH and if you get lucky then 1500 bells will come out to : )
