Should I just run away? Or go ahead and smash it with my shoe?

Well..to tell you more about why i asked that question - As we lifted up a carpet next to our RV, there was a small crack in the concrete on the ground. First one scorpion showed up and my friend smashed with her shoe right away (she had full shoes on) but afterwards another one came up and this one was way bigger. He ran back to the crack and we didn't know what to do. We sprayed some posion stuff but it wouldn't come out. All we knew was we didn't wanted to stay next to that thing. So after a while it came out all of sudden - he ran around like crazy, we screamed.. and my friend smashed it again! That thing was flat as paper and my friend a true scorpion killer! ;-)

the best thing to do is to just leave it alone. You really shouldn't kill them because they are helpful to the environment. They kill other bugs and rodents that we consider pests so next time you see one unless it is attacking you, highly unlikely, just walk away.

If you aren't wearing the shoe, go ahead and smash it. Don't miss! You could spray poison or call an exterminator if you don't want to. I'd only use a shoe I'm wearing if I knew the soles were thick enough I wouldn't get stung thru them.
Run away from something that is practically an insect? No way--leave it alone (it probably won't mess with you anyway), (carefully) catch it and release it outside the house, or kill it. If you are in the US, the worst a scorpion will do is make you sick, unless you are particularly sensitive to their poison, as some people are with bees.
