Well, you are not gettting any younger. If the mate wants no sexual contact, go elsewhere. Enjoy life while you can, in 5 or 10 or 15 years you may be going downhill physically, and will regret not doing anything while you can.
Take a trip, by yourself, and maybe you can enjoy the company of others near your age that would be interested in some physical contact.

I am 41 and have a 56-year-old mate. He is more sexual (and better too) than two 20 year olds and a 16 year old! I don't know how or why, but he has a refractiory time of like 10 minutes. No Viagra here!

You're 56, not 156. It's normal to be horny at 56. Get some sex! I don't know why you aren't doing it with the wife, but that would seem to be the logical partner for you. And if that's not possible... well, you can decide for yourself if you want to be celibate for the rest of your life. For me, that would be being half dead.
