Do you mean WHY is it important to vote? It is important to vote because that is your constitutional right. You get to make a difference in your country. If you don't vote, you have no right to say anything about how your city, state or country are being governed.

PS - To the first person that answered, no it is NOT important to vote Democrat, it is important to vote the right person, whether they are Democrat or Republican.

It's important to vote because that is your opportunity to have your say in who is elected. It's your chance to select whomever you think is the best person for the particular job and give them a vote. Lots of people think that it doesn't matter if they vote or not, that their vote doesn't make a difference but that is not true. Think about the impact it could have if all of the people who thought like that actually did vote, collectively we all make a difference. Take your chance to have a part in electing your public officials both on a local level and a national one. Your voice does matter.

If you mean why is it important to vote, what would you suggest as an alternative? Would it be okay with you if an official were to be selected at random, and then later you decided you didn't like or respect that person, or thought he was doing a lousy job of representing the people? At least if you vote and are part of the majority, the man or woman you would like to see elected would be of your personal choosing. Even if he or she didn't win, you'd be justified in expressing your disappointment. Otherwise, you would have no say in the matter at all. Does that make any sense to you? To me, it seems the only fair way.

yeah dont u mean WHY is it important to vote.

but yeah i know wat ur talking about.

but it is important to vote because if you don't the voice of the people won't be heard. cuz if one person says it doesn't matter if they vote then more ppl will start saying and believing that.. and then if most of the voting population think that everyone that are eligible to vote won't be voting and the gov't won't be based on the opinions of americans and our gov't wouldn't work. it's how our nation was built by our founding Fathers and it has worked for 200 years.
