No offense, but that's a little strange that some one elses' dad was going to give you a cell phone. I wouldn't let my child accept that either. I wouldn't play your mom and try to do nice things just to get something you want. Treat her that was because she's your mom and deserves it. I'm sure she has her reasons for not allowing you accept that phone.

Your mom is just looking out for you, she senses something isn't right about the whole situation, and moms usually are right when they get that "gut" feeling that something is wrong. I have a feeling there isn't much you could do to change your mom mind, maybe you could work for a cell phone, maybe your mom can find so odd chores around the house to do and you can save your money and buy a cell phone yourself.

Your mom is right. The worst thing about a lot of young adults today is that they have things handed to them instead of earning them or working for them. If you want a cell, show your mom how responsible you can be. Maybe offer to do some things around the house or get a job.

show responsiblitiy maybe ask calmly what her reasons for rejection and maybe offer to do more chores to help with cost
other than that there is no changeing her mind with out her just wanting to. if ur under15 u don't really need a cell phone anyway u don't drive can't go many places no need but 15 or older i kno u probably not only just want one but need one soon u may be driving so you now your mom u kno best wat will work.

wait did u mean ur friends dad was going to get u this? if so deal with ur moms answer if u were my kid i wouldn't let u get a phone from ur friends dad

Helping out around the house with various chores would help but maybe you could explain how valuable the cell phone could be
in an emergency if you get hurt and can't move or someone is stalking you or you just want to keep in touch.

Stop being a BRAT!!!!!!!!!! And help out around the house maybe you can't change her mind but there are things more imporant than having a cell phone.

I would clean the house, make her supper, and sit her down and talk to her about it. Ask her why she is saying no and then tell her the + of having a cell such as, she can get ahold of you when she needs something, if something happend to you, you could call her, and so on. If you need to have your friends dad talk to her about it, so that she knows why he wants to do it.

Oh yeah tell her cell phones saves lifes.
Good Luck

Why would your friend's dad give you a cell phone and pay for everything? It doesn't seem right.

Who's kid are you? Go with your Mom on this one! She most likely has a very good reason. Could be she thinks that your friends dad has ulterior motives. Mom is on your side, stick with her.

thats mighty strange of your friend's dad. Sounds like y'all have a "special" relationship

also, your mom is still in charge, so if she smells a rat in this situation, there most likely is one. Go over her reasons with her and see if you can understand them.
