Avent - Their nipples are the closest shape to the real thing...

I've never tried the Avent, but my daughter did well on the Playtex and there wasn't much confusion. Now Playtex has the Premium bottle which is suppose to be even better for breastfeeding babies. I plan on using these with my son when he's born.

I started off with PlayTex, but my daughter got so much air, it wasn't funny. I tried several others then eventually found the Dr. Brown's bottles. Those are awesome.

My daughter had colic and reflux. A powerful combination for a new mother to handle. Once I used the Dr. Brown's, her gas problem lessened. Those saved me.

For my son born this past May, I didn't even think of using any other bottle.

They take a little more effort to clean because of the extra tube inside, but they are worth their weight in gold.

I heard Avent but I used playtex with disposable liners and my son did fine. With the platex you can squeeze all of the air out to cut down on gas.

I love the playtex with the drop in liners. I pump and store in the bags and then defrost and drop in the bottle. You can push out the extra air so all baby gets is milk. They also have these great nipples that are supposed to mimic the breast. They make baby open his mouth wider (as with nursing) and suck harder (they have a slow flow one). When he gets older you can move up to a stage 2 nipple. Same idea but with a faster flow.

I prefer Playtex, the ones with the drop-in bags. That way, you can get rid of all the air in the bottle. Each brand has a couple of different types of nipples. Let your child decide which one they'll take.

I use the playtex nurser with drop in liners. Their great. Its easy to switch up between the bottle and breasts, and their also a plus because you can squeeze all the air out and the baby gets less air.

I use Dr Brown's Natural Flow. They are a patented system to reduce colic, spit-up, burping, and gas. The internal vent system is the only vent that eliminates the vacuum and the air bubbles found in most baby bottles. It allows air to enter through the nipple collar, without bing incoporated into the breast milk or formula. The air is then channeled through the internal vent system, to the area above the milk. Babies feed more comfortably because the vent allows babies to nurse without fighting the negative effects of a vacuum, or the discomfort of ingesting air bubbles. This reduces colic, spit-up, burping and gas. The breast milk flows freely through the nipple as the air is channeled to the top of the bottle. This no-vacuum effect also reduces fluid in the ear and eliminates nipple collapse.

Dr. Brown bottles work great for me and everyone I know who has used them has loved them too. They are available at Wal-Mart and Target.
