Is there any way to change a cell phone number for a Motorola/Verizon cell phone?

I recently got a cell phone given to me & I can't use the phone number that's on it because it is long distance.

Go to verizon and get service from them and tell them that you want to use the telephone that you have now. They can change it for you once you have a service provider.
