I was stationed in Alaska for 3 years, Ive seen many people forget to plug in their car, try to start it and crack the block destroying the engine. If you forget to plug it in a night DO NOT TRY TO START IT,,, plug it in and let it be for a day or so that it unfreezes your engine,,, THEN start it up... You could have damaged your engine,, have it checked out...

Plug the car in a couple of hours before starting. The block heater does just that it keeps the block and the oil warm. This allows the car to start easier and less strain on your battery.

10 below is not that cold, it should of started if in good running condition. I'd be sure to have a good battery and proper mix of coolant.

Batteries get weaker when they're cold. If it was half gone to start, that's it. -10 ain't cold.
