When using (no quotes) "ipconfig /flushdns", I get a message saying that the "Function failed during execution." Any thoughts as to why, or what could be done?

if the DNS Client service is not running it will always fail to flush the DNS cache.

Go to Control Panel/Aministrative tools/Services/ highlight DHCP client in the list and click stop. Then click Start.

Yep. I've seen this before, several times. Your DNS cache is corrupt (which is probably why you were trying to flush it to begin with). You'll have to delete the dns.cache file (don't worry, windows will rebuild it the next time you use DNS). Delete the file, then hit a web site or two. THEN run ipconfig /flushdns. Your problem will have disappeared.

Are you giving ipconfig the correct -flag? By the look of it no.
