i think im a trans but i dont know i took the cogati test and it was 290 a probale transexual but yet i like boy as well so could you just give your opion on what sex i am. and please no kidding around

i want to know if im gay or a transexual

There is a slang term, "Transfag" that some members of the Transgender & Transsexual community use here in Minneapolis, MN. It refers to a person who was born in a female body but whose gender is male AND who is also attracted to men.

You have to decide on your own which gender feels "right" for you. Then you have to decide if you want to have sex reassignment surgically and or hormonally - or if you want to cross dress for awhile to experiment, or if you can be happy living in your body the way it is today with a masculine personality. I recommend finding a support group made up of transgendered people.

Well, until I read your question, I'd never even heard of the Cogiati test, so I went to the website and looked it over, despite being a girl. Here's my take on it:

I find it (somewhat) offensive that this test will be used to tell you if you are transsexual or not. Somewhat, because I believe that it can be helpful for people, and whatever helps you is good! But I don't believe that there is such as thing as a 'female brain' or a 'male brain', and that pretty much all traits that are gender-linked are the result of gender socialization. We are all individuals, and I would hope there would be more behind me taking the time, money, and emotional and pyhsical stress to change my body than questions about whether I'm good at math or can remember names!

So I suppose what I'm saying is that you can keep that number for reference, but don't let it decide for you. In my opinion, if you are seeking out the Cogiati test, then you probably already have an inkling that something is going on, and that's the feeling you need to analyze, which will only come with lots of introspection.

Some things to consider:

1) Do you like your genitals? Optimally, this wouldn't be a question, because I think you can love your genitals while still wanting the other sex's (like me), but if you can't stand them, have to think of them in terms of the other sex's genitals, never masturbate or only do so calling it the other sex's genitals' name, then that might be a sign.

2) Does it cause you mental/emotional distress to have people relate to you as the gender your body presents (i.e. if they call you 'he'/'she', you want to wince/cry)? If it gets that bad, then you most certainly have gender dysphoria and transsexuality is the option for you.

3) Can you imagine living the rest of your life as that gender? Give it serious consideration- each gender faces a lot of expectations and has limitations that the other does not. Of course, I encourage people to be themselves- don't conform to anyone else's rules!- but by doing so, you'll get just as much flak from people. You need to factor it in; if the scales tip for changing your gender, that's the best option.

It sounds like you are exploring your gender, and I wish you the best whatever happens. But since you are so ambivalent- could go either way- you might merely be transgender and not require transitioning with hormones and surgery.

The online cogiati test isn't completely trustworthy, but if you like the answer it gave you then you probably are trans and just dealing with issues of self doubt on top of that.

Either way, this is something you should probably discuss with a counsellor or therapist, they can take the time to get to know you better and help you figure it out. All we can do is take guesses based on what you let us know.

If you are transexual it mean you were born the wrong sex. Your sexualtiy has NOTHING to do with it. If you are a male who want to be female you will be a LESBIAN if you like girls and STRAIGHT if you like boys.

I don't think it is wise to put your identity in the hands of others, as identities cannot be decided by another person. identities are intimate, we take them in as part of our being and they can shape our lives.

The question I think is do you like your own penis? If you do -- then you are gay. If you hate it and don't like to play with it -- you are trans.

If you happen to be gay, you can do drag to enjoy that inerest in yourself -- without losing your maleness -- and it will make liking other gay bois a lot easier.
