I am 32 yrs old and have a 4 yrs old son. I am just now listening to MCR, Hinder, Stone Sour, ect. I went to Hot Topic and spent $100 on stuff. My wife said I am more like myself when dressed GOTH..
Please help..

If you listen to Hinder, you seem in no way Gothic. Hinder is about partying, the good life, and having fun. Although their appearance is a bit edgy, they are very mainstream.
You don't sound gothic at all...

Um, no offense but those are bands usually listened to by teenagers. And Hot Topic is really just another store in the mall. Try visiting goth.net. They have lots of valuable information. Maybe you act a certain way that brings out defining characteristics in you when you dress goth, thus, your wife's comment. I've helped all I can.

You don't seem Gothic to me. Some of my friends are goth. Hot Topic is not goth, Hinder, MCR, and Stone Sour are definitely not gothic.lol just wear what you want and listen to what you want. You don't need to label yourself.

I'm 30 and listen to MCR and Hinder also. I've always dressed in dark clothes but I'm not Goth. Don't worry. Besides, doesn't matter if you are. It's just a style.

i dont think those bands are goth i always thought bauhaus the cure switchblade sister skinny puppy sisters of mercy and black tape for a blue girl were goth stone sour isnt that the band with that queer from slpiknot? and what is hot topic? isnt it the store kids hang out at in the malls? and being into metal my whole life and picking on goth people i would say your goth if you dress like your at a funeral like anne rice vampires wear black make up dye yor hair black hang out in grave yards and are into the snadman comics i really think goth on guys is gay but it looks good on certain women if you want to pick up a goth chick next time cradle of filth comes to your town just hang outside the concert hall and you can take your pick of these morose little skanks

OK, First that is not major Gothic. Most of the music your listening to isn't Gothic. If she means Gothic means wearing a lot of black, then don't worry your not Gothic. Be happy with yourself, be whoever you want to be. Don't let your wife lable you (I'm not disrepecting your wife). Your you because your you. Hope I help out, I have no clue if I did.
