We don't know.
If global warming was only due to human activity, we could stop using all fossil fuels, or find a way of scrubbing the CO2 from the atmosphere (which, even if we knew how to do it, would not happen overnight).
But the real problem is that global warming may not be 100% due to human activities; there were time in the past, like during the dinosaur age, where the Earth was warmer than it is today; likewise, there was an ice age just 10000 years ago, and the Earth got warmer since that time, and we know that fossil fuels have nothing to do with that -- check the attached link, especially the chart.
If it is normal for the planet to get warmer now, then it will get warmer because this what it has to do. The only way to prevent that at this level would be to put some giant screen in space to cast shade on the planet, or some other ludicrously expensive scheme like that.

After ten 100,000-year cooling (90,000 years) / warming (10,000 years) cycles over the last 1,000,000 years, why would anyone think that they know the cause and effect relationships enough to even attempt to change a naturally occuring event. We just happen to be living in a warming cycle (people were not even on the planet for the last nine). We should not try to change it until we understand it and we are a long way from understanding it.

we don't it's a 1500 year natural cycle. warming is a good thing. it will increase growing seasons, and increase the amount of land that can be used for farming. it is simply being used as a scare tactic by communists like algore to attack capitalism

Nothing, it just how the Earth wobble around in and out from the Sun over many years. One day it will wobble the other way and then it get cold again.

(sigh) It's a cycle that has happened for millions of years. We're just now at a starting point of one.

Educate yourself, research the matter.

plant more & more trees to replace all the ones that have been cut or burnt down
& then plant even more
have less cars
less burning of fossel fuels
have more solar power panels not necessary those noisy wind farms because they can destroy areas where trees once grew

We should stop using areosal (sp?) can and stop being so naeve about it it. It is not okay because if there is to much of it all of the glaciers will melt and the earth would flood.

Stop the cutting of trees in forests and jungles. Also encourage tree re-planting or reforestation.
