I know plenty of good, or bad, Republicans and Democrats. Is it the best way to polarize everything?

i think we should do away with political parties in the states. they have outgrown their purpose. not only are there republicans, but then there are conservatists and conservative republicans and on the other side it's democrats and liberals and left wing democrats or whatever people call things now, not to mention all the smaller political groups. there needs to be a better way. now days just saying you are a political party does not state your political viewpoints. maybe a check this box yes or no system - totally childish, but it would make it so they couldn't be wishy-washy on political beliefs to get votes.

It's not going to happen any time soon.
I think the parties have gotten TOO distant in their thinking - I mean polar opposites.
