1. Cost of living - housing and transport expenses are now prohibitive, many new couples will never be homeowners.
2. Political consensus - with the rise of "New" Labour there is now little difference between the two major political parties at election time.
3. Government ethics - the present government ignores public opinion (e.g. Iraq), it's just as sleazy as previous Conservative governments, and our Prime Minister comes across as untrustworthy and insincere.
4. Economic base - our manufacturing industries were destroyed in the 1980s, and now our service sector is under attack (e.g. call centres transferred to India).
5. Multicultural society - polarisation is happening, especially Muslim vs non-Muslim (as a result of 7 July 2005 bombs, veil/clothing issues, activists inside UK, events around the world)
