Does anyone get into trouble with friends/people in general for having a dark/sarcastic sense of humor... They just don't know how to take me, I even shock people I've know for years with it, even family...

Should I change and be a happy ol' soul, the light of everones day?

Just be yourself - it's a key to happiness!
even if others don't accept you - one day you will find people that will - but at lest you will be honest with yourself and will know whom you are.
don't ever loose your identity!!!!
everyone is special in their own special way!!!
just keep smiling!

PS. I like black humour - and some people don't get too - so what! there are over 6 milliards people in the world - nobody can't get everybody!

"To thine own self be true." I dig a dark sense of humor, it's a refreshing change from all of the sugar coated garbage that I hear from those whom remain politically correct. I am a non-conformist, and can find humor in what others find, pretty twisted stuff. Big deal! If others can't accept you for who you are, then it's their problem, not yours. Lewis Black is about as dark as they come in comedy, and funny as hell. Who says that you aren't the light of someones day? You made mine, so don't sweat the small stuff.

People either accuse or congratulate me (depending on who they are) for being very dark. Not only with my sense of humor, just in general. Be who you are. Trying to be the light of everyone's day will just exhaust you and you'll come off as fake.

(1) Yes, I do that too

(2) There's nothing wrong with presenting some groups of people with what they want to be presented with. But your friends need to learn that you is what you is. You might have to explicitly explain it to some of them occasionally (in a non dark/sarcastic way of course!)

Keep it up. The world needs to be offended to see how DUMB it is. Like race. I love talking about race and using racial slurs....why, because ulitmatiley race is but one minute thing in the whole s.hi.t pile of things that make us US.

BTW, I'm a bitter vulgar woman who loves humour that challenges.

No...tell them to like it or beat it!...im the same mate but if someones says that they don't knw when to take you serious...i just make a joke of it then. Maybe you could be a lil' mellow when it comes to certain people, people who you knw r more sensitive...and people will respect you more;)

I don't think you'd have an sucsess changing your sense of humour - you are what you are.
I know its hard when people don't 'get' your humour, but trust me, lots of people find that.
Be yourself, and be good at it!
