Cheeky, what is the worst that can happen? You could lose the job, but you will have 6 months severance pay and 6 months to find a new job. If you are a good employee you won't have to worry. If they terminate your employment, you can find another job. God is in control, calm down, take a deep breath and relax. This could be the beginning of something new and wonderful for you. Try not to panic but see the big picture. Your time there could be coming to an end but there may be something much better for you in the future.

This has not happened to me but I do have some advice

1)Stay calm I know you might be nervous but stay postive.A positive attitude always helps in a bad situation

2)Think of people that you would not consider eligible for keeping their jobs think of yourself as not the best but not the worst

3)Most importantly if you can stop by (if you have a desk or a station of some sort) your company and organize your items and such this will show you are an organized reponsible person.

I don't have anything else to tell you but to wish you the best of luck!

Look at it this way........What is freaking out going to do for you? It's only a waste of your time and an emotional drain on yourself. What's going to happen is going to happen and you can't do anything to change that. Just do what you're paid to do and be good at it. If time comes and you keep your job, great! At least you wern't stressing about it. And if time does come and you are laid off, then still no need to stress, just be happy you got your severance pay and find a new job. Stressing is just a waste of life, be happy....one love : )

You should be so lucky to get severance. I know a lot of people who are let go with nothing.

If you love your career that money will give you time to find a job you really love.
