I have windows XP if that makes any difference?

(.jpg is .jpeg) Not only that, but by using any photo viewing program on Windows XP (or every one that I have used), you can save the picture in a different format. Just go to "save as" and choose your save preference.

Open the bitmap image in Paint. circulate to document => shop As A window will pop open click the Arrow beside shop As document sort A menu will pull down opt for JPG or GIF enter a filename beside Filename click shop

Open the image with paint and Try saving the image again using "save as", under "save as type "option choose the file extension you want.... bingo

Go to 'save as', you should get a whole bunch of options for different file types.

open it in a program like paintshop or photoshop, save it and select the file type as whatever you want.
