I saw them winning, I didn't see them winning by 42...
The star player on the Bulls is and will be Luol Deng. He's grown 2 inches since they drafted him and is poised to be a similar type of player to Scottie Pippen (maybe even better than Pip...seriously). But the signature with this team isn't a "best player" though, because so many of their players are right there with Deng at the top and the Bulls play as a team, you could make an argument for up to 7 guys being their best players: Deng, Big Ben, Little Ben, Kirk, Nocioni, Thomas, and even Sefolosha down the road. They're going to have a great season.

it was awful! I knew from what I've seen in the past and from the way the Heat players seemed distracted by the awards ceremony last night that they probably wouldn't be too focused on the game, but give me a break! The Heat really showed their age last night.
I don't know about a high caliber star emerging from the Bulls but I was impressed by a few things. Kirk Hinrich really stepped up in a big way and had a great game. Tyrus Thomas looks like he will be a solid player once he gets in his rythm. He came up with some big defensive plays and stops. Ben Gordon and Luol Deng looked ready to go. Nocioni suprised me. PJ Brown looked good too.
Two other things that I noticed last night were the big changes in the officiating and the new game ball. Players looked really uncomfortable using the new microfiber ball; it looked like there were a lot more turnovers because of sloppy ballhandling which could be blamed on the ball. The number of defensive fouls that were called that would have been charging fouls last year were also suprising. It is all aimed at making scoring easier and offense more effective, but until players adjust things may stay sloppy for a while.
Did you notice Nocioni get a technical for raising his hands? Stern is really enforcing his ZERO tollerance and ZERO thug policy!
Overall I say the Bulls have incredible defense and the Heat are just too tired to go much further with the current lineup.

I did see the Bulls shelacking on the Heat the other night and I think they will not have any star players. I think they know what it means to be a team and they'll play like that for the rest of the year.

I don't think there will really be a big star player. The Bulls are just a great combination of good team players. Right now they've got a good guard combo in Hinrich and Gordon. Andres Nocioni is getting better and better. Ben Wallace is already a defensive powerhouse. I think they do need a better PF. But also their rookies like Sefolosha and Tyrus Thomas look good and still are develping. This team looks good, but Big Ben is getting older, so they have to make their run for the championships now.

Yes, it was freakin' dissapointing (I'm a Spurs fan, but to see the defending champs losing by 42..) Wade was the only one who shined for the Heat.. others were just plain horrible
Bulls' star player? In the next few years, I think Tyrus Thomas will be the next Big Ben, only with more offensive skills. He did block Shaq on his debut game

I didn't see it, but I'm glad to hear about it. I think they all work well as a team, and don't really have a star player this year. Go Bulls!

I would say there wont really be a star player. They will all just work really well together. They will be the best team in the East.
