what is the difference really?

is it what u learn?
are the jobs u get for each type different?
is one more well respected in the art community?
is one more widely accepted in the non-art world?

I have worked as a curator selling art for about 5 years now without a degree. I get paid more to work at a nonprofit doing statistical analysis. So the "fast food" application does not apply to my degree plan.

i'd like to get into grantwriting for nonprofit cultural organizations. but if that doesn't feed me, i'd like to fall back on whatever degree i go back for.

i have a job, but i want the degree for knowledge sake. i want to improve my ability to do what i do now. improve the chance of getting a salaried position doing so.

some generic jobs just require a bachelors to show u have dedication to finish the degree. which is more valued in this scenario,,,, ba or bfa.

A BFA is a degree in Fine Arts. This would include degrees in Painting, Sculpture, Music and Theatre.

One is Bachelor of Arts; the Second is Bachelor of Fine Arts (like music, dance, art majors).

yes, the jobs are different. As far as respect goes I think it's probably linked more with the person and their knowledge than the degree itself.

The B.A. is a general bachelor of arts degree. The B.F.A. is a bachelor of fine arts degree. The BFA is tailored specifically to the the subject of the arts. It is what is called a "professional degree." It is not as flexible as the B.A. should you wish to use your degree for a job out of the arts world.
