If the new people were to be set to live forever then there will be no God, but since people as we know refuse to die, they need something to think is true in hope there is another life beyond this one, so the answer is yes maybe with another name, maybe Mickey Mouse or something like that, don't you think?..☺

Think about this, God was not invented by man but quite the opposite. Mankind is human and one man has no power like the power of a supreme being( a force), God would still be here whether you believe in the force, the energy that surrounds you the gifts you have been given or just in mother nature, some people think the supreme force is a woman, from the fact that earth was born woman give birth and so on. But God is and that is all no matter what man did not invent the Universe, nor any of us, so therefore for the grace of God in any form there walks you and all.

God was invented? When did God explain things? What people say that? I don't remember that happening...
All I know is human figured it out on their own cause they are the top of the good chain!
And even if humans had to start over they still would not come up with god. You are a believer of God so you say that God exists..I say he does not. it's all in your head or you were brain washed by the previous generation.

If humans were to start over with all their current scientific knowledge. I believe they still would have came up with god because people need something to believe in and wonder about God explains things we dont understand and still many people dont understand everything even though science has grown in so many ways. To me your question is kind of based on everyones different opinion of Gods existence. Do you believe in God?

Yes, they would come with God, because it is more than the unexplained, it is a very real and pr oven notion. Everything we have in science can be backed up the fact that there is a creator. Do you think things just happen as a result of the Big Bang theory? You might consider that even that is a product of design and a master plan for the unfolding of the universe.

God would still be "invented" as you put it because people naturally seek to explain things not explainable by science. We also have a natural inclination to think spiritually and morally about why we are here on earth and what is our purpose. Why do you think philosophy even exists except for that very reason!

Yes, we would still come up with "God".
People need something to believe in.
Something greater than ourselves.
It gives our lives meaning and direction.
It gives our deaths meaning and hope.
A famous quote by Voltaire, "If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him."
Let us accept that God exists? But what if he didn't? Well, we would have to invent him, because he is necessary for the individual / society, for whatever reasons.

You have it backwards We didn't invent God he created us from
his own imagination (not image) and humans do not have much
scientific knowledge compared to all that exists in the universe
that they still question. We haven't even explored all the areas
of our own planet, let alone the vastness of space.

Yes, because science still has no clue to the most afflicting question of them all: what happens when you die? Another reason is that we have a need to feel someone is watching over us and that there is a meaning for all this. Concerning this last point, and since we are in philosophy category, what is the purpose of points in Y!Answers? We need meaning.
