Starting your period again after the initial 4-8 weeks of bleeding afterwards isn't fun. Heavy bleeding is extremely normal and your next period should be more regular. However, it is NOT normal to bleed so heavy you soak through one pad in an hour continued for several hours.

Is it normal to have your period right after childbirth?? Yes, with my 2 nd son, 2 weeks after having him I had my period.. You say HEAVY if your bleeding real bad and soaking pads quickly you will need to call your doctor and ask him..

Yes your first pp period is sometimes very heavy. I would overflow a tampon in about an hour, same with a pad. I wore both and still had to go to the bathroom every 1-2 hours.

If you feel ok, not dizzy, not weak you are fine. Your periods may be heavier for awhile.

Did you have a tubal after birth? My family doctor just told me that your periods are often times much worse after a tubal. (No one bothered to tell me that before the tubal!)

There is no "normal". Talk to you doctor if you are concerned.
