You know I love all kids TV from back when we were young Trapdoor, Ivor the Engine, Jamie and his magic torch , even Dr Snuggles!!! But I do love those little poorly animated felt moomins. Now i can't answer your question but hopefully i can gt best answer by describing some of them so here goes!!
Moomintroll just a plain straight forward run of the mill moomin! No probably a cop out but Moomin Mama and Papa again nothing weird although i do recall maybe dad had a bowler hat? He had a sister I'm sure.
Now this is where it gets tricky I know had 2 friends a homeless gypsy type man who dressed in green and strangely hung round with moomins in his spare time!! Think he played a flute too. And Snurff (or was that Thundercats!!!) but definitely a poorly animated felt mouse who tagged along again. That's probably all i can remember character wise apart from the strange episode with the wailing snow creature or something, now i tell you if I'd have been a moomin and had to face that I'd have **** myself that's how scary it was to me back then!!!

Hmm that's about it I'm afraid but i hope I've impressed you with the bits i can recall. Oh I can hum the theme tune but i suppose that accounts for nothing when I'm giving a written answer!! Damn!!!

Yes I remember it- always gave me the creeps. Only remember moomin mama and moomin papa though and there was a very little girl with redish hair pulled back into a pony tail and wearing a red dress.

I have only seen some of the cartoons, but I had a book. It was kind of eery & but I loved it. The caracters I remember best were the Hatifnats or something. Read it in German, so the spelling of the names might have been slightly different. And wasn't the girl with the little, last dragon called My? And there was Mumrik, Morra and Mrs. Filifiok (or something) and the invisible girl and the little animal thing - Titiooh?... Oh, and Sniff. He/She/It (?) was lovely! And there were Hemul and Homsa.

But I think it was Finnish. :)
