Personal Data Assistant. Same as Handheld PC (think Palm Pilot or HP IPAQ). Some cellphones have PDA capabilities, which are called 'smart phones'.

PDAs are used to carry personal contacts, personal calendar schedule, send/receive email, store files used by PCs, and run specialized programs. All PDAs have a capability to synchronize their data with a PC or laptop.
