Kerry is really not sorry. He really feels that the soliders in Iraq are part of the underclass. He and Michael Moore feel the same way. Remember in Fahrenheit 9/11, Moore remarks that many of today's soliders are the poor. He is really not sorry. He should be though.

It takes a big person to apologize. I don't particularly like the way Kerry comes across. An apology is not the same as an excuse for opening mouth and inserting foot, which is essentially what he did when he inferred that our fighting men were uneducated. That was an unforgiveable faux pas. And you don't make jokes about that sort of thing. No, I can't in good conscience, defend his most recent screw-up, and the way he handled it by clouding the issue and sweeping his remark under the rug, when he should have offered a sincere apology. (I am a liberal, I guess, since ordinarily I have a lot of respect for democratic candidates).

Has Bush ever apologized for his idiotic remarks? Early on he called the war in Iraq a crusade. That's a heavy word in that party of the world with a long history. It certainly didn't help calm the anti American sentiment. If Bush can misspeak, not say what he intended, then why is it so hard to believe that the same can be true for Kerry? Is it because he's a democrat?
BTW. He did apologize this morning. Also many of the republican who apologized did so while at the same time trying to blame the democrats and George Soros for the Foley debacle.

Do not equate what Foley did to what Kerry did. They were both wrong, however Foley's actions were reprehensible and highly illegal as well as beign perverted, but Kerry made a mistake in judgement and its beign blown up by politicians eager to turn the tide of the campaigns in the United States right before election day on the 7th. Not even similar.

Foley didn't say he was sorry he did the typical republican thing and blamed someone else...saying that he was sexually abused by a priest...Kerry didn't do anything wrong, he didn't mean to insult the military he meant to insult the president, and it was spun to make him insult the military to try and make the elections swing to the GOP. this is all political pandering

I think he did apologize and he did explain that he wasn't inulting the troops-- he was insulting the president.

You want to hear somebody say their sorry? Ok
I'm sorry Bush is president
I'm sorry he botched our security and allowed 9/11 to happen
I'm sorry he screwed up Katrina response
I'm sorry he lied to us about going into Iraq
I'm sorry he botched the war in Iraq
I'm sorry our national debt keeps growing higher
I'm sorry people are to ignorant and blinded by their ideology to undertand that people misspeak sometimes.

That enuf for ya?

Why can't conservatives say i'm sorry. I mean is a botched joke really worse then a botched war including 2816 american deaths in Iraq?

Look, I've watched his "joke" a few times, and I DON'T see it as an insult, it clearly meant at least to me: "if you don't do your homework right you'll get stuck in Iraq LIKE BUSH!"

It COULD be understood otherwise, true. But this is just normal picking on each other as usual..... just let it go..... man there are far more important issues at stake here than this silly joke thing.

I don't think this is limited to one "type" of person whether political, gender or age. I think it is a trait common to all humans. We are too proud to apologize. The more public the figure the harder it is to admit we are wrong because the backlash is incredible.

First of all, the comment was a jibe at the Bush administrations policy, not at troops.

Second, if you belive the right spin on the statement, you are a fool.

Third, he DID apologize to any military that he offended, but stands fast that Bush policy SUCKS and he will never apologize for speaking the truth.

But go ahead and follow the leader, you sheep.
