I don't understand it. We know they're here ONLY to get negitive responces and get under our collective skins. So why give in? Why give them what they want?

...and Why post any questions that deliberately bait them?

Just give them a "Thumbs Down" rating and REPORT. Report them for every violation that is appropriate.
One for harassment, one for insulting other particiapants, one for cloning (which these people/person does/do often), one for Epithets and Slurs, and one for "Other" then use the "reason" space to cut and past not only the question and/or responce that's offensive, but also make sure you get their personal user info as well. Also type in that the user in question is a "Repeat Abuser."

Please do not "report" this post as it is indeed a question as WELL AS informative suggestions for EVERYONE who frequents this catagory.
Thanks :)

For the most part, I don't.
I report them and give them a thumbs down every time. (and that does include their bashing responses in others questions as well).

I think some people just enjoy bickering. If it's something that really sends me into orbit there are times when I can't help but say something to someone. But for the most part I do exactly what you suggest. Report, bad rating, and ignore!

Venting, mostly.

I do report the ones that are clearly not questions or are pure harassment.

But some of them bring up subjects I'm interested in talking about, so I overlook the source and intention (tho I'd much rather do it in a threaded discussion forum, where I can get and give feedback on the ideas more easily.)
And some of them are the kinds of things I want to respond to, not for the person asking but for the casual reader who may not understand what's going on.

it depends on my mood and if the 'question' has a really good comeback just waiting to be said. i do ignore many and just report them, but many times the basher 'questions' are a lot more interesting than the real questions.

btw, i love your questions and answers:-)

Freedom of speech, baby. Better get used to the concept because it's not going anywhere.

I do it because I love sarcasm and they are idiots. I generally enjoy showing how stupid they are with just a few words.

Ignoring them doesn't do anything and getting angry feeds them showing how stupid they are is both entertaining and educational.

Why are you so thinned skinned? There is a freedom of speech, people can ask dumb questions if they want, you do not have to read or respond to them....why not report the people who put spam up on here?

When I originally answered the question I tough it was in the R&S section.....And also you are right, I did not read your entire question, I skimmed it and just saw REPORT REPORT REPORT. and to top it off you are telling people to report others, but then ask people not to report you.....sounds hipocritical, most of the rude comments on here are written by children or people in Middel Eastern countries....Why don't you ask yahoo to ban all these users, so your YAnswers will be less negative and more user friendly

Careful.

When you point at somebody, three fingers are pointing back at YOU.
