It used to be Al Pacino from Godfather I & II. His Michael Corleone is so powerful & chilling.
But now I'm torn because I absolutely love Viggo Mortenson's Aragorn in the LOTR Trilogy. He has a quiet enchantment about his character that demands you listen to him.
Good question!

I can't narrow it down to one.
James Stewart Its a Wonderful Life
Marlon Brando The Godfather
Jack Nicholson One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Mel Brooks Blazing Saddles jk
I also think Sir John Gielgud was amazing, even though his last leading role was on stage and took place before I was born.

Bruce Willis
Almost everything he has done has impressed me, but I recognized his greatness in Unbreakable, The Sixth Sense and Color of Night, His action movies and comedy roles speak for themselves, but this man is under rated in my book.
Honorable mentions to:
Harrison Ford Blade runner is still one of my favourite non franchise movies.
Carey Grant in Alfred Hitchcock's Suspicion
My favourite non-leading man: Brad Dourif
THE most under rated actor on Earth

Paul Newman. OMG, the man is 81 and he's still handsome, still has the absolute bluest eyes in show business. I loved him in Cool Hand Luke and The Hustler. Go Fast Eddie!

My absolute favorite is Cary Grant. He was spectacular in every movie. Especially in Notorious. Excellent.

Toss up, Anthony Hopkins, Sean Connery Michael Caine or Harrison Ford.
They can all fit expertly into many roles. (Sorry, I am probably a bit Brit biased but I think they have better basic training).

Johnny Depp is really good in POTC 1 and 2, but my all time fave.... probably Jim Carry. Hes naturally funny, and plays great in Mask, Liar Liar, and (my favorite) Me, myself and Arlene.
