No-- Arizona has a stupid proposition on the ballot which would give unclaimed lottery money to random people who vote in each election.
You should vote becuase it is your civic duty, not for lottery money. Giving rewards to vote would only encourage people to randomly vote for things and candidate. It would not encourage people to take the effort to learn about the candidates or the propositions.
You have a right to vote-- but frankly, I want people with a clue to cast votes, not people who blindly pick stuff off a ballot.

the freedom to vote FAIRLY is in itself what many soldiers died fighting war in the LIBERATION from England -
It is a great thing for every citizen to put their voice into the system- it's actually pretty rare in the world -
why muck-up people's motivation by offing lottery tickets -
hey how about if you got paid a buck each time you fed your baby? Then if you really didn't feel like it, or need the money - could you just let it go? Of course not....
folks wake up! or your country is gonna turn up missing!
plus - I don't want 10 points for the best answer - THATS NOT THE POINT!!! lol!

If you are speaking of monetary rewards...
I think not. Voting is a privilege. If you are rewarded for it then people that are unaware of the policies will vote for the reward. There will also be more 'dead' people voting.
The reward is an elected government beholden to the people. When we get one of those, I will let you know.

You are rewarded, just by being given the opportunity to vote. Thats enough of a reward in itself.

I just read an article about a proposal on the ballot in az. They would have a drawing of all the people who voted in the election and the winner would recieve 1 million dollars of unclaimed lotto money.
I have mixed feelings on this issue.
On the one hand, it is a way to encourage people to get out and vote.
But on the other, you will have a lot of people who are doing it just for the chance of winning a million.
I'll have to think about it and get back to you

NO! It's a privilege to vote, esp for women. The fact that some women went to jail and were forced fed so they could get the vote (I saw the movie "Iron Jawed Angels") for us means that the absolute LEAST I could do is vote, even if the choices are slim.

You ARE rewarded for voting. You get to participate in the GREATEST DEMOCRACY on earth. What a privilege. God Bless America!!!!!!!!!! If you want to get paid for voting, go to Chicago and contact the Demorats there. They even have the dead voting.

It should be against the law NOT TO VOTE as it is in Australia. They even have a "none of the above" listed on the ballot in case you don't like any of the candidates, you vote for that phrase.

Voting is its own reward! Some people cant vote so i would say it should be a privilege! (duty & resposobility)!
