No you can't repair it I mean you can cut that part out and try buying a piece of carpet from a carpet store and making it blend I guess that could work if you got the right match.

Was looking forward to a new carpet when this happened to mine but the insurance company sent in a man who removed the burnt bits, turned the far edge of the carpet over, removed a lot of strands and rewove them into the hole.

Seemed to use a tool like a crochet hook. He pulled each loop through the carpet backing, tucked the two other ends through next hole in the backing and pulled through the loop. When he'd done, he trimmed the lot and there I was back with an obnoxious coloured carpet, good as new.

So tufted carpets can be repaired but it couldn't be done with a bonded or foam back.

go to the carpet store, get some carpet the same as what you have, not a big piece, just the size of a square, go home cut a square around the burnt spot and put the new piece in there..it works

Make a series of iron burns across the carpet at regular intervals and use this excuse:
"I was awoken at two in the morning by a noise downstairs. I went to investigate but I was temporarily blinded by a bright light. However, I did manage to see an oddly shaped, metallic creature in the living room. It was hopping about on a single telescopic iron-shaped foot and I could smell burning. I was nearly overcome by the fumes; but I kept it together long enough to see the creature hop out of the window, climb into a silvery disc and ascend into the clouds forthwith. I declare this testimony to be the truth so help me God."

For small burn snip off affected tufts with nail scissors. For a bigger problem, cut out the affected piece and use it for a pattern, to cut out a leftover piece. Then put glue around the replacement, align and replace.

Cut a piece from under the bed or furniture that is never going to be moved and stitch it where the burned section is. No big deal, its easy. Make sure you have a nice thick needle and strong thin twine.
