Take a close look at both the key and the keyboard. Check to see if the key is broken, or just fell off. If none of the little plastic pieces on the bottom appear to be broken, put the key back where it belongs and push down--hard. It should 'click' into place. If pieces are broken, you'll probably need to call Dell for a replacement.

I would call Dell and find out. Could be that the laptop is still under warranty and if not then they may be able to repair it or suggest what you can do.Try contacting support.

At least it is the > key. I am sure there are alot of people who knock of the backspace key due to their typos!

Push the key back on until it clicks as they do come on and off. If it continually falls off try putting a small amount of nail polish on the fitting of the key to help hold it in place. Nail polish works better than glue because although adhesive the bond can be broken - similar to lock-tight.

just push it on till it clicks. Same thing happened to my dell laptop. You can take them off and put them back on again.
