about 6 months ago my friend and i were at a bar and there were these 2 guys there that were being complete assholes, well we got into an argument with them and they took of with my friends cell phone so i called my husband and he came there just as he pulled up they went around the block and was saying we got your phone ha ha! so my husband and my friend and i started following them in our trunk and it was raining out and it was late they slammed on the breaks and surved into to us his back left side of his truck hit the front passenger side of our truck then they stopped and proceed to pull my husband out of our truck, the other guy gave back her phone, and we tore this guy off of my husband, and we drove home i called the police, they had called too, we found that out when the police came to our house, well today i just got an accendent report in the mail and it says they have over 500$ in damanges and it says it was a hit and run, and we didn't have insuance,what is gonig to happen

Get a lawyer yesterday.

This will cost you jail or at least $5000.00.

1. A hit and run is personal injury without giving your name and personal details to the police or the other party. If it's just property damage it's "leaving the scene of an accident".

2. There is a police record of your details, so it can't be either of the above.

3. Driving without insurance is an offense of varying degrees in different states/jurisdictions.

4. Aside from the spelling and grammar, "they slammed on the breaks and surved into to us" doesn't tell me who is at fault. If you were behind them, in general it's your fault. If they were behind you, in general it's their fault. Either way, your driving without liability insurance, if that's the fact, leaves you open to various penalties. And in California to not being able to recover for your own (noneconomic) damages: Civil Code section 3333.4

The key issue here is the insurance. If your automobile is not insured then the vehicle should not have been on the road and you'll likey have to pay for the damages.
