I saw it for the first time last week. She is flaky and, frankly, plain (i.e., looks don't make up for her flakiness.) Maybe I missed something. Please explain.

I don't think she is plain at all. However, I find her character annoying as hell.

I watched that show once and I thought the same thing. I didn't realize that she was the main character until a co-worker pointed that out. I guess the first couple seasons are better than the ones they are playing now.

Funny you ask that question... People always make a big deal out of only casting certain characters with certain looks and that people are too skinny and why don't they cast fat people and blah blah blah...... So whats wrong with casting a NORMAL looking person?? SHe isn't GORGEOUS, but shes pretty.... and if you don't like her character then there is nothing anyone can do...just don't watch the show.

She is made to look and act like a harried, overworked and unconfident young intern......it's called acting. If you want to see how gorgeous she can look, her picture with Patrick Dempsey are in all the New York & Company stores in the malls.

Because she is very smart and real, since this your first time watching it you need watch more so you can begin to understand.

She's got charisma, I guess. lol I think she's pretty immature and wishy-washy myself....but she's got that "cuteness" that guys go crazy over. She has that "damsel in distress" thing going on; that "I'm cute and completely lost, will you come and rescue me?" attitude. :-) I love that show!

She gets drunk and has noisy freaky sex with total strangers. One guy couldn't get rid of his erection for a day after her.
