Help...? The answer I got was a fraction! =/

well....u got 7x-16=-76
so.....u add 16 to both sides to get
7x=-60 so...u divide by 7 to get
x=-60/7 which is indeed a fraction and there is nothing wrong with that. In higher math course, answers that have fractions will be typical. = )

7x - 16 = - 76
Now...add 16 to both sides...
7x - 16 + 16 = -76 + 16
7x = - 60
Now...divide both sides by 7...
x = - 60/7 (this is your fraction)
