WIll the recruiters stop telling high school students that it's OK that they can't make the grade, that the army is an alternative to college? Or didn't you realize that is what they do, and those are who they target?

The Army will stop recruiting poor and uneducated kids when rich, Rhodes Scholars start volunteering in large numbers.

Your question includes the clause "now that the jig is up". This makes your entire question false. That phrase INFERS that Kerry's insinuation that people in the military are dumb is true. His statement was UNTRUE,as one of the answerers pointed out,besides being dumb and showing a total lack of knowledge of our armed forces. (something that a senator should not be guilty of).

you need to make up your mind whether you are going to claim kerry was misunderstood, or if you are going to defend his statement by saying it is correct. It just makes you look like a typical liberal not to make a decision.

DOD STATS. 99% of military personnel have a high school education or better. 88% of civilians have a high school education or better. Over 90% of military officers have a college degree. 56% of civilians have a college degree. Question is, when will you advance YOUR EDUCATION. And after you find out how wrong you were on this subject. .. .We'll be looking for your APOLOGY to ALL VETERANS.. . . . U'S'Army vet 1981-1987. And PROUD OF IT.

I have never seen or heard of a recruiter who did that.

Recruiters talk to anyone that walks by if memory serves.
