"IT" was an awesome movie loved it. Gosh every one of his books and movies are my favorites, so hard to just choose one of each. You would think though he lives in Maine as I do, I would have sometime in my life caught a glimpse of him but noooooo. LOL I have written him many letters, sent cookies when he was hit by that driver. Tried to visit him in the hospital but no one was allowed to see him. Truly the man has a wonderful talent for putting words into a story and when you read the book it takes you there (well it does for me anyways). well if I had to choose one film best, I would have to go with The Shining, but like I said, I love all his movies, books. HOpefully someday my wish will come true and I will eventually see him in person, just to let him know how much I admire his talent. Good to know there are many other Stephen King fans out there.

Sorry, but Beth is right. The only movies based on King's work that have been successful have been non-horror stories like Shawshank where the advertising specifically avoids any link to Stephen King!

the movie Pet Sematary is what made me become a Stephen King fan. i saw it in the theatre with my brother and after that i read pretty much all of his books. so for that reason, and because i absolutely love them, i'd say Pet Sematary. plus, Stephen had a cameo in the film, so i always assumed he was happy with the adaptation... however, i also really love the film version of The Shining! there are a couple of really big differences between the book and the film, or so i've been told. i've never actually read the book. but i absolutely LOVE the film! cheers, Shauna!

Stephen King is my favourite author, reading his books is like coming home or meeting up with an old friend. The Stand is by far the best of his books, but...... IT is the best film!

man, how can you pick just one?!?!?! King is, well KING!!
1. The Shining, possibly Jack Nicholson's best early performance (besides Easy Rider)
2. Shawshank Redemption - BRAVO!
3. Salem's Lot
those were the best books turned into movies, the ones like Pet Cemetary and Cujo, just didnt translate as well... and Christine, great book, medicore movie......

The Green Mile, or Stand By Me

Shawshank was only a short story that he wrote, but if you want to count that, then that's it. It's one of the 5 BEST MOVIES made in the last 30 years.

I like IT up until the end when they showed the thing behind the IT. It ruin the whole movie. They should have just kept Penny wise as the IT thing. What a well written movie that went down hill at the end.
