I need questions for our Book Group meeting on Monday, November 6.

I suppose what bothers me most about Pat Cornwell's books are that the coroner always become involved so intimately & completely in the cases. She thus becomes a target for the villains. What I would ask is why she uses this formula and why does it work? The cases themselves are interesting enough but her predators make my palms sweat, being scarce human in their motivation. Why doesn't she spend more time developing her villain's motivations (making them at least more human) instead of involving poor old Kay to the hilt? And making my palms sweat.
