I need to write a paper on a technology invented/developed in Philadelphia like Baldwin Locomotive Works, or water works for my history of technology paper. I am so confused, and 'googled' for it, but I can't find anything. It can be invented by one and can be anything, as long as it has some connection to Philadelphia. Just a topic would be great? Anything you know/remember. Please, I am desperate !!!

Are you sure that what you are feeling is God speaking to you or your own opinion rationalized through the filter of thinking it is God speaking to you? I'm not trying to be harsh, I'm honestly asking. Many different religious groups make full use of technology to spread their message. I receive rather interesting theological bulletins from a religious group which would not happen without technology. I can't myself say that technology is "evil" simply because it is technology but it certainly can be put to unsavory uses. The internet for example is technology and can be used to spread both Love and Hate. An iron shovel is technology and could be used to dig a trapped child out of a collapsed well or it could be used to bash someone over the head and kill them....

Ben Franklin invented tons of stuff....bifocals, urinary catheter, many more...you can go to the Franklin Institute website for info...
