I assume you mean Henry VIII. The one who had six wives, most of whom had their heads chopped off for one reason or another.

I'm not a historian, but his most notable achievement that comes to my mind is his being the father of Queen Elizabeth I. (Not to be confused with Queen Elizabeth II, who is the current Queen of England.)

By most accounts, she was a strong ruler, and did a lot for England when it was faced with the prospect of war with Spain, which was at that time one of the most powerful countries in Europe.

But I'd say she became a great queen despite her father. She always lived in fear that she'd end up having her head cut off for one reason or another.

Maybe you should read about Henry VIII, and form an opinion for yourself. It's a very interesting period of history.

And as an afterthought, another important act of Henry VIII was breaking with the Roman Catholic Church. Because of this, England became a mostly Protestant country. He was the founder of what is now called the Church of England.

Of course, he only founded the Church because the pope took a dim view of his fondness for taking on new wives. Divorce wasn't an option. So he founded his own church, and he made the rules.

Although his daughter Elizabeth was really the one responsible for ensuring that the Church of England survived once her father died. Her father's actions were ultimately responsible for plunging the country into violent religious conflics, with Catholics versus Protestants.
