Does anyone know of any exercises that would make the pain lessen. I can hardly move.

It really depends on what is the cause of the pinching. It may be muscular, but is also may be discogenic. Proper exercises differ depending on the cause of your symptoms. I would not advise doing any exercises recommended from the web until you are seen by a physician and diagnosed. General rule of thumb: if it increases pain, numbness and tingling (especially in the thigh or leg) don't do it. Try resting and heat/ice for the pain. And go see your physician.

Usually more exercise, friction will aggravate the pinch.
You actually need a combination of heat outside the pinch area to relax muscles, and cold on the pinch area to reduce inflammation. Also available from anesthesiologists and pain management clinics are lumbar epidurals that reduce the swelling and inflammation. If it is also the result of a now bulging disc, it will NOT repair the bulge but it will reduce the inflammation and allow some normal movement. (but NO real lifting allowed)
